Nobody sees the world in the same way. our view is warped by our minds perception and the physics of our eyes inernal lense. we create beauty with our percepion, by noticing paterns, filling in deails, and rebuilding our own world within our mind. Ive been exposed to photography trough my brothers images of abandoned factories and hospial complexes. at times I'd get obsesed and chase these forgoten places myself. I was only grasping a passing moment, a thrill. He was preserving it, brodcasting his eye through to mine. My first camera was a secondhand nikon point and shoot whose shutter would get stuck and creep into my images. It soon stoped working. later I had a phone that could take decent snapshots but I didnt understand photos unill I got my DSLR and acually learned photgraphy. photography is not just capuring a moment, but highlighing the details, manipulating the camera, creating form of the image. an image to trick others perception into replicaing a piece of the world that I see.

Project 1:

Project Description

Project 3:
Light Painting

I found developing a concept and finding an enviroment for light painting dificult. Through this experimenation however, I learned how to take advantage of long exposure times which I applied to future work

Project 4:
Composition & Point of View

For this project I was tasked with presenting 12 final images of one subject containing various composiional elements. I for the first time worked with a single concept to tie the body of work together. I developed my concept with naming, framing, and image sequencing.

Project 5:
The Moody Portrait

To acheive the moody portrait I learned to fully manipulate all elements of exposure and lighting manualy. I also developed inerpersonal skills, building a working relationship wih the subject in a colaborative process

Project 6:
Street Photography

For street photography I had to fully apply previous skills on the fly while getting comforable photographing around strangers. The requirement of selecting some black and white photos trained my eye for string contrast and composition. I stayed prepared for every opportunity keeping my camera with me at all times. Using apeture priority and AI Servo AF enabled me to take quick shots even while passing subjects on my bike.

Project 7:
Documentary Photography

For Project 7 I was assigned to select a photobook and take inspiration from the photographer. I chose Berenice Abbott and atempted documentary photography. I worked with new scales and perspectives

Project 8:
Abstract Photography

For project 8 I had to present a zine of abstrat photography enfisizing photo sequencing. My concept developed around manipulaing raw photos in audacity in order to futher obfuscate them. this process degraded the images while allowing me to warp, combine, and transform each image.
